Summary
This study tested whether aromatherapy (using scented oils) can prevent delirium—a state of sudden confusion—in adults staying in an intensive care unit (ICU). A total of 161 patients on breathing machines took part. The goal was to see if the pleasant scents could reduce episodes of delirium during their ICU stay.
