Stanford tests scent therapy to soothe cancer Patients' Post-Transplant distress
NCT ID NCT05302583
Summary
This study is testing whether using lavender or peppermint aromatherapy inhalers can help reduce distress and improve coping for cancer patients in the first few days after a stem cell transplant. Researchers will enroll 50 adult patients and compare their distress levels and medication use on days they use the inhalers versus standard care days. The goal is to see if this simple, non-drug approach can provide comfort during a difficult recovery period.
