Stanford tests scent therapy to soothe cancer Patients' distress
NCT ID NCT05302583
Summary
This study is testing whether using lavender or peppermint aromatherapy inhalers can help reduce distress and improve coping for cancer patients in the first few difficult days after a stem cell transplant. Researchers will enroll 50 adult patients and measure changes in their distress levels, confidence, and use of standard medications. The goal is to see if this simple, non-drug approach can provide comfort during a challenging treatment.
