First seen Dec 18, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study looks at whether adding a low dose of aripiprazole to a standard antidepressant can help people with major depression who struggle with repetitive, uncontrollable negative thoughts (rumination). About 108 adults will receive either the antidepressant alone or the antidepressant plus aripiprazole for 8 weeks. The goal is to see if the combination reduces rumination more effectively and to understand how it affects brain chemistry.
