First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study tests whether colchicine, an anti-inflammatory drug, can reduce heart scarring and prevent serious complications in people with acute myocarditis (heart inflammation, often from a virus). About 300 participants will receive either colchicine or a placebo for six months. The goal is to see if colchicine lowers the risk of heart failure, dangerous heart rhythms, or the need for a heart transplant.
