NCT ID NCT05306925

First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated Jun 10, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study looks at whether giving extra arginine (a nutrient) to infants after major bowel surgery or a serious gut infection helps their immune system work better. Researchers will compare three groups of babies: some get arginine through an IV and by mouth, some only by mouth, and some get standard nutrition. The goal is to see how arginine changes gene activity related to fighting infection.
