Summary

This study tests whether learning Argentine tango can increase overall physical activity in people with chronic inflammatory arthritis, such as rheumatoid arthritis or spondyloarthritis. Participants will take tango sessions that focus on body awareness, movement, and connection with music and a partner. The idea is that the pleasure of dancing may motivate patients to be more active in daily life, which could improve their health and quality of life.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
Argentine tango dance sessions
What this could lead to
If tango increases daily movement, it could offer a fun, sustainable way for people with arthritis to stay active and improve well-being.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early trial, so results may not apply broadly. Dancing may be challenging for some and could pose a fall risk.
