First seen Jan 28, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study looks at 120 adults with severe breathing failure (ARDS) who are on a ventilator. Researchers use a non-invasive imaging tool called electrical impedance tomography (EIT) to watch how air and blood flow move through the lungs over time. The goal is to see if different lung function patterns are linked to survival and recovery, which could help doctors personalize breathing machine settings.
