First seen Jan 21, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This completed study used health records from 2 million French adults to see if people who had pneumonia are more likely to develop heart disease, stroke, or other cardiovascular problems later on. Researchers compared pneumonia survivors to similar people without pneumonia. The goal was to understand if pneumonia itself causes lasting damage to the heart and blood vessels.
