NCT ID NCT03202823
First seen Feb 19, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study looked at how arachidonic acid, a type of fat, is processed in artery plaques of people with and without diabetes. Researchers collected plaque samples from 204 patients undergoing carotid surgery. They wanted to see if differences in fat metabolism make plaques more likely to rupture in diabetic patients. The study did not test any treatment, only observed biological differences.
