Virtual reality goggles tested to calm kids at the dentist
NCT ID NCT06954883
Summary
This study tested whether using augmented reality (AR) goggles as a distraction could help reduce pain and anxiety in children aged 6-10 who were having a baby tooth pulled. Sixty children were randomly assigned to either use the AR goggles or receive the dentist's standard comforting techniques during the procedure. Researchers measured the children's pain, fear, and heart rate to see which approach worked better.
