Splash & think: water workouts boost brain and balance in seniors
NCT ID NCT07270094
Summary
This study tested whether adding mental challenges to water exercises provides more benefits than water exercises alone for healthy older adults. Eighty-four participants aged 65+ did twice-weekly water therapy for 12 weeks, with one group also doing memory and attention tasks during exercise. The group that combined physical and mental exercises showed improvements in both thinking skills and physical balance, while the exercise-only group improved only in physical measures.
