Summary
This study tests whether Aquamin®, a natural mineral supplement, can prevent pouchitis—inflammation of the J-pouch—in people with ulcerative colitis who have had their colon removed. About 52 participants will take the supplement or a placebo for up to 8 months. The goal is to see if it reduces inflammation and delays or prevents pouchitis from starting.
