Experimental pill aims to shield kidneys during common heart scans
NCT ID NCT05758896
Summary
This study is testing whether an oral drug called APX-115 can prevent kidney injury in patients with reduced kidney function who are undergoing a common heart imaging and treatment procedure. About 280 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the active drug or a placebo pill. The goal is to see if the drug is safe and if it can protect the kidneys from damage caused by the contrast dye used during the procedure.
