Aspirin breakthrough: could a simple pill save pregnancies?

NCT ID NCT06408181

First seen Jan 24, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study tests if starting a higher dose of aspirin very early in pregnancy (before 7 weeks) can lower the risk of preeclampsia and pregnancy loss. About 1150 pregnant women at high risk will take either 162mg of aspirin or a placebo, then switch to a standard dose. The goal is to see if this approach works better than current recommendations.
