This study aimed to see if Apple AirPods Pro 2 could work like traditional hearing aids for adults with hearing loss. Researchers tested 21 participants to compare the AirPods' built-in hearing test and sound amplification features against standard hearing tests and professionally fitted hearing aids. The goal was to understand if this common consumer device could provide an accessible, lower-cost option for hearing assistance.
