New device aims to safely remove deadly lung clots and recycle your own blood

Summary

This study tests a device that suctions blood clots from the lungs of people with a serious type of pulmonary embolism (a blood clot in the lung). The device also cleans and returns the removed blood back to the patient. The study will enroll 39 adults with acute intermediate-risk pulmonary embolism to see if the procedure is safe and works well.
