New pill aims to tame erratic heartbeats in AF patients

Summary
This phase 2 trial tests whether the experimental drug AP31969 can reduce the amount of time people with atrial fibrillation (AF) spend in an irregular heart rhythm compared to a placebo. About 200 adults with paroxysmal or persistent AF will wear a heart monitor to track their AF burden over the study period. The goal is to see if AP31969 can safely control heart rhythm without the need for more invasive procedures.
