Pill vs. panic: can a simple tablet calm nerves for cataract surgery?

NCT ID NCT06874452

Summary

This study is testing if taking an oral anti-anxiety medication (XANAX) before surgery can improve comfort for patients having cataract surgery on their second eye. Researchers will enroll 250 people to see if the pill reduces anxiety, pain, and nausea compared to not taking it, aiming to find a safer, more convenient way to ease surgery-related stress. The main goal is to measure patient satisfaction with their anesthesia experience during the procedure.
