Can a single antibiotic dose before surgery protect burn patients from dangerous infections?
NCT ID NCT04292054
Summary
This large study aims to find out if giving a single dose of antibiotics right before burn skin graft surgery helps prevent serious infections afterward. It will compare antibiotics to a placebo (inactive substance) in over 500 adult burn patients. The goal is to provide clear evidence on whether this common practice is truly beneficial or if it might contribute to antibiotic resistance.
