Shorter antibiotic course tested for prostate surgery
NCT ID NCT07209150
Summary
This study aims to find out if a shorter, 3-day course of antibiotics is just as effective as the standard 7-day course at preventing infections in men who need prostate surgery. It will involve 250 men who already have a urinary catheter and are scheduled for a specific laser procedure to treat an enlarged prostate. The main goal is to see if the shorter treatment leads to fewer complications like urinary tract infections or hospital visits.
