Scientists probe mystery of excessive urination in anorexia recovery
NCT ID NCT05235867
Summary
This study aims to understand why some teens with restrictive anorexia nervosa urinate excessively when they start eating again in the hospital, which can prolong their stay. Researchers will check if a hormone called secretin is different in patients who urinate a lot versus those who don't. They will do this by taking one extra blood sample before and after a meal and collecting one extra urine sample from 10 hospitalized participants.
