Weak ankles could be key to understanding why seniors fall

NCT ID NCT03343769

Summary

This study aimed to understand why some older adults fall by investigating the link between ankle muscle strength and balance. Researchers measured ankle strength and body sway in 34 participants aged 60-90, comparing those who had recently fallen to those who had not. The goal was to gather knowledge to help create better screening tools and future exercise programs focused on strengthening weak ankle muscles.
