This study aimed to understand why some older adults fall by investigating the link between ankle muscle strength and balance. Researchers measured the ankle strength and standing balance of 34 participants aged 60-90, comparing those who had recently fallen to those who had not. The goal was to gather knowledge that could lead to better screening tests and targeted exercise programs to prevent future falls.
