NCT ID NCT07199985

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 23, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study measures muscle strength, balance, and flexibility in 45 ballet dancers to find out what makes them more likely to get ankle injuries. Researchers compare dancers who have been injured in the past year with those who haven't, plus a group of non-dancers. The goal is to use this information to create better rehab programs and help dancers return to the stage safely.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

What this could lead to

If successful, this could help develop personalized rehabilitation programs for ballet dancers to reduce ankle injuries and time away from dancing.

What could go wrong

This is a small observational study with only 45 participants, so findings may not apply to all dancers. It identifies risk factors but does not test any treatment.
