First seen Apr 07, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study tested whether a carbon fiber ankle foot orthosis (AFO) helps stroke survivors walk better while doing another task, like thinking or carrying something. 26 participants completed walking tests with and without the brace while their brain activity was measured. The goal was to see if the brace reduces mental effort and improves walking performance during dual tasks.
