Placebo vs procedure: can a heart op ease chest pain?

NCT ID NCT05142215

Summary

This study tested if a specific heart artery procedure (called CTO PCI) could reduce chest pain (angina) in patients who were already taking the best possible medications. 50 patients were randomly assigned to receive either the real procedure or a placebo (fake) procedure, and neither they nor their doctors knew which one they got. The main goal was to see if the procedure led to better symptom relief and quality of life compared to the placebo.
