Summary
This study is testing whether closely monitoring a patient's level of sedation and pain during surgery can help prevent serious complications afterward. It focuses on older patients or those with other health conditions who are having major surgery. Doctors will compare outcomes between patients whose anesthesia is guided by special monitors and those who receive standard care.
