First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study looks at whether different anesthesia methods can help prevent or lessen chronic cough in lung cancer patients after video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS). About 228 adults scheduled for lung surgery will be randomly assigned to different anesthesia strategies. Researchers will track cough frequency, severity, and duration for up to a year after surgery to find the safest and most effective approach.
