Awake or asleep? study tests best way to numb pain for arm surgery
NCT ID NCT07352839
Summary
This study compared two ways to keep patients comfortable during arm or hand surgery. One method numbs just the arm while the patient is awake or lightly sedated. The other puts the patient completely to sleep. Researchers looked at which method led to less pain after surgery, fewer side effects like nausea, and a faster, more satisfying recovery for 120 adults having planned orthopedic procedures.
