First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 32 times

Summary

This study watches 60 adults having planned abdominal surgery to see if eyelid reflex, eye movements, and pupil size change with anesthesia depth. Doctors will check these signs at three points during surgery and compare them to standard brain monitoring. The goal is to find simple, non-invasive ways to detect if a patient becomes aware during surgery.
