New anesthesia drug tested to fight Post-Surgery confusion in seniors

NCT ID NCT05514405

Summary

This study aims to see if a newer anesthesia drug called remimazolam causes less post-surgery confusion (delirium) than the commonly used drug propofol in older adults having hip or knee surgery. Researchers will compare how often delirium occurs in the first three days after surgery between the two drugs. The goal is to find a safer anesthesia option that helps elderly patients recover more clearly after their operations.
