New anesthesia combo aims for smoother recovery after colon surgery
NCT ID NCT07239479
Summary
This study is testing whether adding a sedative called dexmedetomidine to a standard inhaled anesthetic (desflurane) leads to better outcomes for people having minimally invasive colon cancer surgery. Researchers want to see if the combination uses less anesthetic, keeps blood pressure more stable during the operation, and helps patients wake up feeling better afterward. The trial will involve 40 adults in Vietnam undergoing planned laparoscopic colon surgery.
