C-Section anesthesia study: spinal vs. general – no big difference in baby brain oxygen?
NCT ID NCT07477093
First seen Apr 17, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study looked at 49 pregnant women having planned C-sections to see if the type of anesthesia (spinal or general) changes oxygen levels in the baby's brain right after birth. Researchers used a special light sensor on the baby's head to measure brain oxygen for 16 minutes after delivery. The goal was simply to observe and compare, not to treat or change anything.
