C-Section anesthesia study: spinal vs. general – no big difference for Baby's brain?

NCT ID NCT07477093

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looked at 49 women having planned C-sections to see if the type of anesthesia (spinal or general) changes oxygen levels in the baby's brain right after birth. Researchers used a special light sensor on the baby's forehead to measure brain oxygen for 16 minutes. The goal was simply to observe and compare, not to treat or cure any condition.
