New scan could spot failing leukemia treatment sooner

NCT ID NCT02392429

Summary

This study is testing a special type of imaging scan (called FLT PET/CT) to see if it can tell doctors whether chemotherapy is working for patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The goal is to see if this scan can detect treatment failure earlier than the standard bone marrow biopsy. Researchers enrolled 87 adults with newly diagnosed AML who were starting standard chemotherapy.
