Genetic tracking could predict which leukemia patients will stay Cancer-Free

NCT ID NCT02756962

Summary

This study is testing whether measuring leftover cancer mutations after initial treatment can better predict which acute myeloid leukemia patients will relapse. Researchers are tracking 107 adults who have achieved remission to see if patients who clear these mutations have better survival than expected. The goal is to improve risk assessment so doctors can better decide who needs more aggressive treatment like stem cell transplants.
