First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 32 times
Summary
This study tests whether giving a short infusion of amino acids during heart surgery can help prevent acute kidney injury, a common complication. Researchers will enroll 130 adults having elective heart surgery with a bypass machine. Half will receive standard care, and the other half will get standard care plus the amino acid infusion. The study will measure kidney injury markers in urine to see if the infusion offers protection.
