First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study tests whether amiloride, a drug usually used for high blood pressure, can reduce the number of migraine auras (visual or sensory disturbances that often come before the headache). About 40 adults with migraine with aura will take either amiloride or a placebo for a period, then switch to the other. The goal is to see if amiloride can prevent aura attacks and improve quality of life.
