New depression drug shows early promise in mood and alertness

Summary

This study tested an experimental drug called ALTO-203 in people with moderate depression and loss of pleasure (anhedonia). Researchers gave 69 participants either the drug or a placebo to see how it affected their mood and alertness, and to check if it was safe. The goal was to gather information to see if the drug could help control depression symptoms.
