Can a trip to the mountains worsen anxiety? new study investigates
NCT ID NCT05323864
Summary
This study aims to understand how low oxygen levels, like those experienced at high altitude, affect people with anxiety and depression symptoms. Researchers will compare 68 participants—some with these symptoms and some healthy—in a safe lab chamber that simulates the air at 12,500 feet. The goal is to gather data to help create future safety guidelines for people with mental health conditions who travel to high places.
