New breathing device could help ALS patients breathe easier, live longer

Summary
This study is testing whether a special breathing training device can help people with ALS maintain their lung function and potentially extend survival. Fifteen adults with ALS will use the device twice daily at home and visit the clinic every three months for breathing tests and assessments. Researchers will compare results with historical data from other ALS patients to see if the training slows breathing decline or delays the need for breathing assistance.
