Summary
This study looked at whether alpha-lipoic acid, a common antioxidant, can help critically ill patients with sepsis. 80 adults in the ICU were given either the supplement or a placebo for seven days. Researchers measured organ function and inflammation to see if the supplement improved outcomes.
