Hair regrowth hope for severe baldness condition in Final-Stage trial

NCT ID NCT02557074

Summary

This study tested whether low-dose injections of a medication called IL-2 could help regrow hair in adults with severe alopecia areata, a condition causing patchy or total hair loss. It was a Phase 3 trial comparing the injections to a placebo (dummy treatment) in 44 participants over 12 months. The goal was to see if the treatment could lead to significant, lasting hair regrowth for people whose condition had not improved with other standard treatments.
