First seen Mar 09, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study looked at how chronic stress, measured by stress hormones in hair, relates to severe gum disease. Researchers took hair samples and stress questionnaires from 42 patients with advanced periodontitis before and 60 days after standard dental treatment. The goal was to see if stress hormone levels change with gum treatment, but no treatment was given as part of the study itself.
