Alzheimer's injection study halted early – only 6 volunteers
NCT ID NCT03748303
First seen Mar 27, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study tested a new weekly injection of allopregnanolone for people with early Alzheimer's disease. The goal was to find a safe dose and see if it could be given as a shot instead of through an IV. Only 6 people took part, and the study was stopped early, so we don't know if the treatment works.
