Study questions whether extra steroids help kids with food allergy reactions
NCT ID NCT07341776
First seen Jan 19, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study looks at whether giving steroids along with antihistamines helps children recover faster from food allergy reactions. About 160 children with suspected or confirmed food allergies will take part during a scheduled food challenge at the clinic. If a reaction happens, they will receive either antihistamines alone or antihistamines plus steroids, chosen at random. The goal is to see if the extra medication makes a difference in how quickly symptoms go away.
