Can a cholesterol drug protect heavy Drinkers' livers?

Summary

This study tests whether a drug called alirocumab, currently used for high cholesterol, is safe in people who drink heavily. About 100 healthy adults aged 21-65 who drink 20 or more alcoholic drinks per week will receive either the drug or a placebo. Researchers will monitor side effects and measure markers of liver health and inflammation over 8 weeks.
