First seen Feb 05, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study looks at 400 adults with primary hyperparathyroidism (a calcium disorder) who are scheduled for parathyroid surgery. Researchers will measure a hormone called aldosterone, which helps control blood pressure, before surgery and at 3, 6, and 12 months after. The goal is to see if removing the faulty parathyroid gland changes aldosterone levels and blood pressure over time.
