Summary
This study tested whether giving rewards for attending treatment and providing alcohol-free blood tests helps people with alcohol use disorder stay sober. 74 adults in outpatient treatment took part. Researchers used a blood test that detects heavy drinking over the past 3 weeks and gave rewards for negative results. The goal was to see if this approach improves attendance and reduces drinking.
